They learned about the research process which includes taking notes on several sources, organizing the notes to create a rough draft, and creating a final paper. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard in VR is an even more horrifying experience than playing in front of a television. Star Wars: Squadrons, Hitman 3, Gran Turismo Sport and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard can be played almost entirely in VR. On top of the platform’s dedicated VR titles, there are also several traditional PS4 games that have special VR modes packed in. There’s a bit of something for everyone here, though the majority of the VR games available skew toward more gaming enthusiasts than the more mainstream Meta Quest 2. If you’re looking to get your fitness on, you’ll enjoy titles like BoxVR and Beat Saber. The PSVR also features its fair share of multi-platform games such as Superhot VR, Werewolves Within, Arizona Sunshine or the phenomenal The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners. Though many games don’t utilize it, the best input device available for the PSVR is the Aim controller when it comes to first-person-shooters. Various movements feel great on the Move controller and accessing the buttons never felt strenuous, even during long VR sessions. Like the multiple LEDs on the PSVR headset itself, there’s also a singular LED bulb that communicates with the PS camera for tracking. The wand-like Move controllers are comfortable to hold, and the button positioning is intuitive. ![]() Audiophiles looking for richer audio can also plug in their earbuds, headphones or gaming headset of choice. It’s a nice touch that keeps the design uniform and prevents your headphones from dangling or getting in the way during gaming. On the band is a 3.5mm headset jack with cutouts to hold the included earbuds in place. However, prolonged usage over the years has led to a bit of decay on the cushions on my unit. The cushions on both the forehead and behind the head are comfortable. This allows users to push and pull the headset toward or away from their face by holding a button on top of the faceplate while tightening it with a dial on the band’s rear. Instead of using a strap like most VR headsets, the PSVR features a circular band that sits on top of the head. There’s a good balance of weight all around that makes it easy to freely move your head. 2 pounds heavier than the Meta Quest 2 while feeling just as light during operation. ![]() Once in operation, the PSVR provides a cool light show between the headset and Move Controller LEDs - especially if people watch while someone is playing in the dark.Ĭompared to other VR devices from Meta, HTC and HP, the PSVR is one of the most comfortable for a handful of reasons. The visual aesthetic of the headset really looks wonderful once the LED sensor lights up. There’s a sleek rounded design that goes well with its black and white colorway. Visually, the PS4 was the clear design inspiration for the PSVR. Some combo setups or extensions also depend on where you are on the screen. The former is a power up based move, when inputting Down Down and any punch button, it will power up your next Hadouken or Hashogeki, leading to more damage. Whilst he feels very familiar to how he was in Street Fighter 5, they have made him somewhat different by giving him 2 new special moves The Denjin Charge and Hashogeki. Whilst I saw enough people playing each of these characters, I only spent a small amount of time with one of the returning characters and that is the series poster boy, Ryu.Īs I had played Ryu in previous games, I figured that there wouldn’t be much that had changed in his playstyle. The beta had 8 characters available to use: Ryu, Ken, Chun Li, Juri, Guile are the returning characters, with Luke, Jamie and Kimberly rounding out the cast as the new fighters. It truly is a testament to how good the R.E Engine is, in terms of visual quality and performance. This is in stark contrast to something like EA’s own engine Frostbite, which has had numerous troubles being able to adapt to games that aren’t shooters. ![]() Whilst it hasn’t been used before with a fighting game, it shows how robust the engine is, feeling like it can be moulded to whatever the teams at Capcom want to utilise it for. This has been used for the vast majority of recent Capcom titles, such as Resident Evil Village and Monster Hunter Rise. This time, Capcom have decided to use their own engine, the R.E Engine (Reach for the Moon). The contrast of colours in the games logo and open screen are very different to the somewhat duller and more muted colour palette of Street Fighter 5. The character models, menu screens and a lot of the visual flair is taking a lot of inspiration from street art, specifically graffiti. Straight off the bat, the visuals in Street Fighter 6 are incredibly striking. ![]() “Not content to have hurt the victim by use of his sword (gun), he also used his pen. The appellate court did not agree with Lanez’s defense attorneys citing, “The petition for writ of mandate and request for stay are denied for failure to demonstrate entitlement to extraordinary relief.” As a result, disqualification is required.” Given these facts, a reasonable person would fairly entertain doubts concerning the judge’s impartiality. “Together, these facts reveal such a high degree of favoritism or antagonism as to make fair judgment impossible. “Conversely, the judge gave the People a full and fair opportunity to present argument uninterrupted, even when the case cited by the People did not stand for the proposition that they advanced,” they wrote in their petition. In a motion filed earlier this month, Lanez’s attorneys, Matthew Barhoma and Jose Baez, requested the disqualification of Judge David Herriford, alleging that the Los Angeles County Superior Court judge displayed bias towards the prosecution. Tory Lanez‘s request to disqualify Judge David Herriford ahead of his sentencing for the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion has been denied by the appellate court on Thursday, June 8. ![]() Actually, ShareX is not only an amazing screenshot and screen capture software, it also can capture and reveal text via OCR, and even capture the screen according to a schedule. One might wonder, however, if the discourse around precarity has tended to privilege the first meaning over the second. It used to mean dependent on the whim or favor of another, but over time its core meaning has shifted to dependency on circumstances, being at risk. Its roots are Latin, meaning something obtained by asking or praying. We need an ethics of protecting those who break from such norms.īut first, a word on this word precarious. But those who are furthest from the norm are likely to be particularly precarious. Their power - and also their vulnerability - is in the act. One cannot separate genders and sexualities from the right to assert them publicly. The norm is bodiliy enacted, but with little turnings, deviations, inadvertent agency. The very repetition of the norm risks undoing it. The reproductions of the norm reveal its weaknesses. ![]() “If gender first comes to us as someone else’s norm, it resides within us as a fantasy that is at once formed by others and also part of my formation.” (30) ![]() Butler: “something queer can happen, where the norm is refused or revised.” (64) Gender norms not only hail us but call us to repeat them, and even if we don’t intend to, our performances will be a bit different. That gender comes into being through its performance implies that there is always something a bit off about it. Hence while gender performativity does not mean being free to chose one’s gender, there is still always some slippage in the performance of gender norms. To this Butler adds a soupçon of Derrida, where the act of repeating something brings with it an unavoidable variation. We misrecognize ourselves in the address, adopting the point of view provided for us. Ideology works by calling to us, addressing us. One could think of Butler’s performativity as starting from Althusser’s famous theory of ideology as interpellation. “One does not begin as one’s gender and then later decide how and when to enact it.” (57) A performative utterance brings what it names into being (illocutionary act) or makes an event happen (perlocutionary act), but Butler is more interested in what bodies do than what they say. ![]() Butler reprises her famous theory of gender performativity as a place to start. ![]() Butler: “there is a war on the idea of interdependency, on… the social network of hands that seeks to minimize the unlivability of lives.” (67) Indeed, but one might need to press on into some of these other questions to understand why.Ī performative theory of assembly is where these texts are headed. Along the way, Butler touches on questions of antagonism, media, infrastructure, the living and non-living, and labor, but each of these are perhaps limit-points beyond which she could not go without modification of her essential theses. Here her thinking extends from questions of gender performativity, seen as an instance of precarity more generally, to a view of the political grounded in interdependency. Judith Butler‘s Notes Towards a Performative Theory of Assembly (Harvard, 2015) is a series of occasional pieces which, taken together, show both the extraordinary range of her thought, and perhaps also some of its limitations. ![]() ![]() This feature makes things easier for you.ĭownload ApowerMirror App for Windows 10 – ISORIVER Audio MirroringĪlong with screen mirroring, you can also mirror the audio so you get an awesome effect in whatever you perform after mirroring your mobile on PC. It’s no wonder these brands are still doing so well - they’ve been with skateboarding since the beginning. NHS, the company that produces Santa Cruz Skateboards, Independent Trucks, Bronson Speed Bearings, Krux Trucks, Creature Skateboards, Ricta Wheels, Mob Grip, and OJ Wheels started in 1973. Powell Peralta, the company responsible for Powell Peralta Skateboards, Bones Wheels, Bones Bearings, and the invention of promotional skateboard videos also started in 1978. Independent Trucks has been on the grind since 1978. And while we’ve come a long way from the days of metal and clay wheels (they’re urethane now), some aspects of skateboarding - like the brands manufacturing some of the most trusted products - haven’t changed at all. When looking at skateboarding’s history, the only thing that’s stayed the same is the overall structure: every board consists of four skateboard wheels, two skateboard trucks, and a skate board riding surface of some kind. Like most sports or art forms, progression is at the heart of skateboard innovation. Skateboards grew and changed shapes as riders experimented with everything from plastic to fiberglass to aluminum constructions - all in an effort to push what was possible. As skateboarding progressed to mimic surfing, the skateboard evolved with the style of riding.
